Composite Image Making

Composite Image Making

Images are manipulated conventionally by changing colours and light also photoshop can be used to remove certain aspects of an image that are not wanted by either cropping it out or using a tool to remove a certain object within the desired frame.

Research
Dada was an art movement formed during the First World War in Zurich in negative reaction to the horrors and folly of the war. There is no consensus on the origin of the movement's name; a common story is that the Austrian artist Richard Huelsenbeck plunged a knife at random into a dictionary, where it landed on "dada", a colloquial French term for a hobby horse.

This photo is a large collection of newspaper prints revolving around Dada and the weimar republic. It is criticising the attempt at democracy that the weimar is trying to impose. The whole picture is chaotic and messy which relates to the state of Germany at the time of the creation of this image.

The image manipulation within this photo shows the her eyes being changed to point where it is obvious to the viewer. This denotes how people are being forced to see what the media wants them to see.

I attempted my own image manipulation within photoshop. It does not relate to any dada images but it a demonstration of image manipulation. I wanted to add Rubber Ducks to the river thames. so I got a stock image of both.

I then opened the duck photo in photoshop and selected the background using the quick selection tool. The left eye was also selected so I refined my selection carefully then inverse my selection so that only the duck was selected then I copy and pasted it over to the image of the thames. I copied in three ducks and used free transformation to make them different sizes and moved them about the image. I added a mask layer to each duck and then painted black on the area I did not want in the photo.
